Rear badges

I have created a single page for the removal the rear cube badge and the replacement of the rear Nissan badge with an Autobot badge as I completed both jobs at the same time.

First of all you need to use fishing line almost like a cheese wire by pulling moving it in a sawing motion down through the adhesive behind badge. (I would also recommend applying heat with a hairdryer during this step to make the adhesive softer and more pliable. Use the screwdriver as a lever but make sure you aim towards the badge and away from the car. Scratched paintwork = Having to refit the badge at best or even worse expensive paintwork.

Badges removed. (Unfortunately the Nissan badge has pegs in the rear so it can't be removed without replacing it with another badge.

Residue left on the car.

The residue is best removed using a combination of white spirit on a cloth and heat from a hairdryer. It's easy enough but it can take quite a while!
Once all of the residue is removed wash anywhere on the panel or car that you may have spilt white spirit on.
Once complete it should look like this.

I initially covered the holes with a Transformers Autobot badge purchased from eBay.

After I smoothed the rear bumper in October 2010 I found the Autobot badge to be a little too in-your-face and it had also pitted over the course of 12 months so I made a badge using the online creator at domedbadge.co.uk, the badge is an Autobot logo scaled up so that only the eyes are visible on the size of badge ordered so it's as subtle I can get without smoothing the holes and getting the tailgate resprayed.
